My entire professional career has been comprised of crossing over between the academic world and the the world of the practitioner. I have never felt that those two worlds were exclusive, and in fact had consistently worked to do whatever I could to build bridges and encourage collaboration between the two. This has resulted in my connection to helping organize and establish both the Sport Marketing Quarterly (SMQ) and the Sport Marketing Association (SMA). Now another opportunity for collaboration has come along – the Journal of Sport Administration and Supervision (JSAS), and I heartily endorse this new project. I see JSAS as providing information and opportunities to collaborate for young practitioners who want to be more analytic and strategic and also for young academics who want to publish but also want to test and apply what they have learned in real-world settings.
I urge my both my academic and practitioner colleagues to seriously consider submitting their research and conceptual pieces to JSAS for consideration in the hopes that these articles will have the opportunity to reach and impact those who need it most – sport business practitioners.
Sincerely,
